Go Easy, Be Filled With Light, Shine
An end-of-year workshop of simple, mindful practices to guide you back home to yourself and raise funds for Greenpop
Let’s be frank – the past year and a half has been tough. But if we’re honest, the challenges have helped us to see ourselves, our lives, and our world in a whole new light. There are many positives that have arisen out of the turmoil that have helped us to grow, to continue to evolve and even to find a new way of being.
In this workshop we hope to honour the comfort and connection that is provided when we gather (safely) in community, as well as the slowing down, introspection and “being” that the pandemic has highlighted as so very necessary for balance in our lives. We want to create a space for you to reflect over the past year and a bit, explore the positives you have discovered, and how you might integrate them into your life now and looking ahead to 2022.
We’ll begin by grounding and settling into ourselves with a gentle restorative yoga session, preparing you to go within for a journey of introspection and journaling to explore what the past year and a half has meant to you, uniquely and individually, and how its “gifts” can be incorporated into your life moving forward so that you can move more easily, with more freedom and intention. And we’ll end the workshop with a yoga nidra – a guided meditation to help embody your intentions and to allow you to bask in the rejuvenating nature of simply being.
All proceeds raised go to Greenpop – an award-winning registered non-profit organisation for environmental stewardship headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa.

About your hosts:
Robyn is one of House of Yoga’s teachers and for her, the magic in yoga comes in those moments when you realise you are enough and are exactly where you are meant to be in life…and in the pose. Robyn’s classes are relaxed and fun (although you are not obligated to laugh at any of her jokes) and incorporate a foundational aspect to ensure all poses are practised safely. She loves breath work and a slow mindful meditational focus in class. Robyn loves teaching those whose experiences of yoga are similar to her own. Those who found yoga a little later on in life and whose bodies are more conditioned to sitting at a desk rather than on a yoga mat. For those who still don’t feel downward dog is a rest pose and those who can’t touch their toes. In short, if Robyn (and her tight hammies) can find beauty in this practice, so can you!
Vicky is the founder of The Inner Alchemist – a community for people to restore their self esteem and find flow within their daily lives. She is a certified life coach and women’s circle facilitator, and through her work shares the process of rediscovering the sacred self to come into alignment with one’s highest purpose. Vicky will guide you gently to boost and protect your mental health, and tune into your cyclical nature to bring balance and restorative self care into realizing your intentions. After a decade in the demanding world of advertising, Vicky understands the damaging effects that stress and striving can have on mental health. Her philosophies are founded on the principle that all solutions lie within, and through redirecting your awareness back to yourself, you are able to restore well-being into your body, heart and mind.
Leigh is a 500hr qualified yoga teacher and the proud founder and owner of House of Yoga. She is passionate about showing how yoga can re-establish a connection to the breath and physical body, and encourages greater self-awareness, self-acceptance and, ultimately, liberation. She firmly believes that the more you can step into your true sense of self, the more ease, calm and peace you can find in everyday life. She spent 12 years working in the corporate world and the tools of yoga have always served as a common thread to counter the effects of stress, fatigue and burnout. Drawing on her own yoga practice spanning 17 years and many styles, and by focusing on technique, alignment and letting go, she aspires to help her students feel more grounded, embodied and energised.
